ACE
Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) is a biblically based program that focuses on individualized learning. The program utilizes mastery learning through rigorous assessment procedures over small units of content.
The core subjects under the curriculum include: Mathematics, English, Word Building, Social Studies, Science, Literature and creative writing.
Individualized learning explained
Students from ages 8 and above who are enrolling for the ACE curriculum are given diagnostic tests to establish their performance level in each subject. Once the level is attained a student is assigned
a Learning Center and an individual office (three sided desk area designed to minimize distractions) A student learns and progresses at their own rate and level of performance through:
- Setting reasonable goals daily
- Using controls such as tests as a measurement of learning
- Motivation and rewards, students are given privileges, merits, congratulations slips as recognition of achievement.
PACEs
Each subject is divided into bite-sized, achievable workbooks called PACEs ( Package of Accelerated Christian Education). The PACE is a unit of work that takes two or three weeks to complete depending on the ability of the Child.
Each subject consists of 12PACEs at each level/grade. Each PACE has specific learning, goals, objectives and intentions with a variety of learning activities and built in assessments, designed to ensure mastery of learning and to teach students effective learning strategies.
